Our Doctors & Staff

The Doctors

All of our doctors are members of the American Optometric Association, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and the Lancaster County Optometric Association. They subscribe to the codes and ethics of these organizations.

Dr. Philip J. Schwartz

Dr. Schwartz earned his degree in physics from Franklin & Marshall College in 1973. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1979. Upon entering private practice in Lancaster, Dr. Schwartz established a large following in his specialty in contact lens design and care. He has served his profession in the past as President of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association. He is a member of the A.O.A Contact Lens Section and gold Key International Optometric Honor Society. In 1997, Dr. Schwartz completed a 100-hour course in ocular therapeutic pharmaceuticals and became therapeutically licensed in 1998. This enables him to serve our patients by treating ocular diseases. In 2003, he completed special certification courses in the treatment of glaucoma.

In 2011, Dr. Schwartz became one of the first 23 doctors in Pennsylvania to successfully complete and pass the process to become a diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.
